Baggo

I hope everyone had a great 4th/weekend. Friday was a fun time with my family. We celebrated Pa Paxson’s 56th birthday with a Red Lobster dinner and tons o’ fun at Craig’s Cruisers. On Saturday a bunch of us went to Holland and watched their fireworks. We tried to add a little pizazz and also do some sparklers… but the Holland police weren’t feeling the pizazz and asked us to put them out. Boooo!
Sunday was a good service at Mars, lunch at Famous Dave’s with the Braam’s, a few hours at Josh Brandsen’s pool and a 500 mile bike ride through Holland. I may be exaggerating slightly on the distance of the bike ride, but it was pretty far. It was a nice day though and it was fun!
Ahh… the 4th. Well, the day started out OK… a little cloudy… some rain. I spent most of the morning cleaning and getting ready for a cook-out April and I were having later on. Then Jim came over and we set out to purchase a lawn game (we are old). We went to Meijer and (trumpets blowing) … we found Baggo. I am sure all of you are not familar with this ingenious game, so let me explain. You have two boards that lay on the ground and are propped up by legs to about 30 degrees or so. These boards have a medium sized hole cut out in the top middle portion of the board. You get four bean bags and the object is to make the bean bags stay on the board (1 point) or go in the hole (4 points) and you play to 21 points. Let me tell you folks, this provides hours and hours and bag throwing fun. Then the fireworks… I don’t want to say too much about them because my language may become a little loose. But, I can sum them up in 6 words: wet, cold, miserable, dirty, and smelly people.
Enjoy the short work week!
