Well, this is my last week as an employee of Calvary Church. My last day is Friday and then it’s a week of vacation (can’t wait!!) and then I start at Mars Hill on July 25. Sitting here, typing this blog, I am reminded of how much stuff I have to do in a week and that I am not doing it right now because I am typing this. But out of devotion to my few loyal readers, I will give you a brief update on my life.
Last week, I finally dried off from the soggy fireworks. The rest of my week was pretty dry! On Thursday, Jim and i went to Saugatuck. First we went to the state park and hung out at the beach and flew Jim’s kite. Holy cows! The wind was so strong and it was pretty hard to keep the kite under control. It may have done some nose dives into the beach and lake, but I would like to think of myself as a semi-pro flyer of the kite 🙂 We left the beach and headed into downtown Saugatuck from some mm-mm good ice cream from Kilwin’s.
Friday was a busy day at work trying to get some things wrapped up. Then Jim and I went in search of new walking/running/hiking shoes for me and other camping items. I finally found some at Dunham’s. And this is a news flash: EVERYTHING in Steve and Barry’s (in Centerpointe Mall) is $5.95!! That’s jeans, hooded sweatshirts, t-shirts, long-sleeved, t-shirts, etc. Now pick yourself back up. You will definitely find me at S&B’s sometime this week because I love me a good cheap hooded sweatshirt 🙂
Jim and I went to Julie and Jamie Rye’s wedding on Saturday. It was beautiful. Saturday also included my first time playing tennis. I may or may not have acted a little like John McEnroe. It’s frustrating! Plus I felt like Ray Charles had better eyesight than I did, so that didn’t help either. But I had the best coach ever, so I will give it another try and soon you will be saying, “Venus Williams, who?”
Sunday was a good day of church and quality Braam time, which included lunch, beach, and baggo. Three of my favorite things. Andrea was introduced to the Braam’s also. I am slowing showing the Braam’s my family. I don’t want to scare them away 🙂 Just kidding family!
So, now that you are updated to my current life, I must get to work. Jim is going to be posting something soon, too (right babe??) Have a great week. It’s going to be a hot one, so find some water or AC.
